What inspired you to pursue a career in music and acting?

I went a through a relationship breakup and decided to invent a better me, which I chose to become Septimius The Great which allowed me to learn music, acting and continue modeling.

Can you share any memorable experiences from your time on NBC's America's Got Talent?

It was the first time that I got the acknowledgment and validation of my new self and my creation.

How do you balance your roles as a singer, songwriter, model, and actor?

Balancing is very hard but fun because I have to always find ways and connect the dots between them all for every project.

Who are your biggest musical influences, and how do they inspire your work?

Berry Gordy – being visionary and a music mogul as being a pioneer of something new in music

Prince – being different and not like anyone else and being unique sonically and visually

Michael Jackson – being creative and unique and visionary

Madonna – being bold, creative and unique

Will.i.Am – being a music genius, businessman, visionary, groundbreaking and innovative

What sets your music apart from others in the industry?

It’s not one genre but music fusion. It’s visual and story telling and its timeless

Can you tell us about your experience working with industry icons like Fantasia and Patti Labelle?

They helped me see that fame and stardom doesn’t have to change you and important to be grounded, real and never take like or your talent for granted

What message do you hope to convey through your music and performances?

That’s ok to be different and unique. That you don’t have to fit a mold but create your own.

We all should never claim to be the best but instead one of the greatest

How do you approach songwriting? Do you have any rituals or routines?

My songwriting starts with a sound of a beat which speak to me that sets the tone for hook and the verses

Can you share any insights into your creative process when producing music?

I listen to a beat regardless of the genre and then hear the feeling, then create the hook and message

What do you enjoy most about performing live?

Performing live energizes me from the energy of the crowd but also turning not interested into fans while watching them transform while I’m perform a song.

How has your background and upbringing influenced your music and artistry?

No background or upbringing has influenced my artistry except for being an only child allowed me to dream, create and imagine

What has been the most challenging aspect of your journey in the music and entertainment industry?

My biggest challenge is to find a team that can see my brand from all angles and not just music, tv/film, fashion, acting etc.

Most people are good at one area as oppose to multiple areas that would keep me from being put in a box

Can you share any exciting projects or collaborations you have in the works?

I’m preparing the release of my sophomore album – Septimius 2.0 with multiple song releases that encapsulates many genre and collaborating music artist from around the world

Also the release of multiple tv/film projects that will hopefully be release in 2024-2025

How do you stay motivated and inspired in such a competitive industry?

By creating something new and innovative that teaches old and young people which solidifies my brand legacy and sound

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians and performers?

Never have or get an ego and remember creatives come a dime a dozen so do want you love and don’t expect success overnight but instead continue to create what you love regardless of acceptance

Can you share a particularly memorable fan interaction or experience?

Before a show I like to be in the audience and meeting people and becuase my visuals are unique and over the top, they didn’t recognize me in a track suit and baseball cap.

When started to perform I singled them out they couldn’t believe it – so always be nice and respectful because you never know who you could be talking too.

How do you see your music evolving in the future?

House music is my foundation and then I add genre influences to make it a masterpiece. So Afro beats and heavy metal maybe be next steps.

What do you hope listeners take away from your music and performances?

That it’s ok to be different and unique even if you only acquire 1 fan at a time

Can you share any behind-the-scenes stories from your music videos or acting projects?

Music videos are so fun and funny to me because I love to play and joke around a lot but learning words is always a challenge to me.

Like when I recorded I Am Fashion it took many many takes to get the flow of the fashion labels in order.

In acting, learning a script is so funny because no matter how many times I read or say it until I become that character- it doesn’t stick

Whole Milk’s Health Benefits: Navigating the Ongoing Debate

Whole Milk’s Health Benefits: Navigating the Ongoing Debate

In the realm of nutrition, few topics stir as much debate as dairy, more specifically, whole milk. While some consider it a staple of a healthy diet, others question its nutritional value. In this blog post, we aim to shed light on both sides of the argument and help readers make informed decisions about incorporating whole milk into their diets.

The Nutritional Profile of Whole Milk

Whole milk, as the name suggests, remains unskimmed and retains its natural fat content. This traditional dairy product is packed with essential nutrients, making it a rich source of vitamins and minerals.

  • **Calcium**: Whole milk is an excellent source of calcium, a mineral vital for bone health and muscular function.
  • **Protein**: It provides a decent amount of protein, necessary for building and repairing body tissues.
  • **Vitamin D**: Often fortified with vitamin D, whole milk helps the body absorb calcium more effectively.
  • **Vitamin B12**: This vitamin is important for nerve function and the production of DNA and red blood cells.

While these nutrients are highlights in whole milk’s profile, the primary point of contention often circles back to its fat content, which leads us to the next section.

Whole Milk and Fat: A Double-Edged Sword?

Critics of whole milk are quick to point out its saturated fat content. With about 3.5% fat, whole milk indeed contains more fat than its reduced-fat or skim milk counterparts. However, the perspective on dietary fats has evolved over the years.

Understanding Saturated Fats

For decades, saturated fats were demonized, linked to heart disease and weight gain. This led many health organizations to recommend reduced-fat or skim dairy products. However, recent research is helping reshape our understanding:

  • **Cardiovascular Risks**: Contemporary studies suggest that not all saturated fats are created equal. While high intake of certain types might elevate cholesterol levels, whole milk, consumed in moderation, may not be as harmful as once believed.
  • **Weight Management**: Some research has indicated that full-fat dairy could play a role in weight management. The satiating nature of fats might reduce overall calorie consumption.

The key takeaway is balance and moderation. Whole milk, when integrated thoughtfully into a balanced diet, might not pose the health risks once assumed.

The Health Benefits of Whole Milk

Despite the debates, whole milk offers several potential health benefits:

Bone Health and Development

  • **Bone Density**: Regular consumption of calcium-rich foods like whole milk can support the maintenance of bone density, potentially reducing the risk of osteoporosis in later life.
  • **Growing Children**: Children, in particular, benefit from whole milk due to its combination of calcium, protein, and other vitamins that support growth and development.

Metabolic Health

  • **Energy Levels**: The fat content in whole milk provides a steady energy supply, making it a favorable option for breakfast or a midday snack.
  • **Blood Sugar Regulation**: Some studies have suggested that full-fat dairy may aid in better blood sugar regulation, though further research is needed in this area.

Natural Source of Nutrients

  • **No Additives**: Whole milk is often less processed than reduced-fat varieties, requiring fewer additives to maintain flavor and consistency.

Who Should Be Cautious?

While whole milk has many benefits, it’s not suitable for everyone. Certain groups need to exercise caution:

  • **Individuals with Lactose Intolerance**: Whole milk contains lactose, a sugar that many people have difficulty digesting.
  • **Heart Disease Patients**: If prescribed a low-fat diet, individuals with cardiovascular concerns should consult healthcare providers before incorporating whole milk into their routine.

Conclusion: Finding the Middle Ground

When it comes to the choice of whole milk, the decision ultimately lies in understanding personal health needs and dietary goals. Here are some suggestions for those looking to make whole milk a consistent part of their diet:

  • **Listen to Your Body**: Monitor how your body responds to whole milk and adjust consumption accordingly.
  • **Stay Informed**: Keep abreast of the latest research and dietary guidelines that pertain to dairy and fats.
  • **Consult Healthcare Providers**: Seek advice from dietitians or doctors, especially if you have specific health conditions.

To conclude, the ongoing debate surrounding whole milk highlights the complexity of nutrition science. By balancing its consumption with other food groups and heeding professional advice, whole milk can comfortably fit into many diet plans, offering a host of nutritional benefits along the way.
